We're happy that Con/Mom's return to therapy is commencing a bit sooner than we thought. She began assessments last week and will wrap them up this week so she can begin with her OT, PT and speech again at the DMC in Novi.
They have seen some nice improvements thus far so she is very pleased to hear that! They will continue to work on developing her neuro pathways to bring her thoughts and speech together. Basically, repetition is the key here.
PT and OT are still needed to strengthen her arm and leg and create more movement. They are pleased to see her right hand is in good shape (no atrophy) even though she's still working on grasp. Currently, the thrust of her arm movement comes from the shoulder area.
I've run into lots of her friends and I've passed along well wishes. Thank you all for the continued prayers and support. Dad/Dave continues to be her right hand and though he has a good routine down, he is still on his own arduous journey. Their lifelong partnership has proven the key to recovery including patience, love and optimism.
